Where is Kazakhstan?
Do NOT believe what you saw in the movie "Borat"!! Kazakhstan is part of Central Asia and is slightly less than four times the size of Texas. Kazakhstan is a beautiful and peaceful country. Kazakhstan covers an area of more than 1 million square miles and lies between Europe and Asia. The children in Kazakhstan are ethnically diverse, usually of Asian decent, but there are also many Russian children.

Quick reference timeline of process
- 1-10-08 I was told to expect to travel at the end of Feb!
- 11-30-07 Dossier released from DC and arrived in Kaz
- 10-23-07 Got new medical form filled out and notarized, re-dropped off to be Apostilled.
- 10-22-07 Picked up Apostille's. Medical form rejected. Made copies and dropped off dossiers at agency.
- 10-19-07 picked up home ownership letter and dropped off entire dossier to be apostilled. Paid expediting fee to be done in 24 hrs.
- 10-18-07 CIS approval!!!!!
- 10-12-07 Received my medical form from Dr.
- 10-1-07 Agency changed its name to Child Promise
- 9-7-07 Got official letter from agency stating HS was approved by Kaz w/HS reports for Dossier
- 8-25-07 Got 3rd fingerprinting done for USCIS (I 600A)
- 8-22-07 got FBI approval with "no record" stamp in the mail
- 8-17-07 HS approved by Kaz social work partners
- 8-10-07 mailed in FBI backround check form w/fingerprinting card
- 8-1-07 opened a Fed Ex account & final HS report sent to CIS by Reaching Out
- 7-25-07 Got HS approval!! Got confirmation that I600A was received
- 7-17-07 Mailed in I600A without HS report
- 6-18-07 Final HS meeting
- 6-11-07 (2nd of 3 HS meetings) First of 2 in-home visits by social worker
- 6-2-07 Completed 1st of 3 homestudy required meetings. A 4 hour class at the agency.
- 5-30-07 Social worker called and we set up both appointments for at home meetings-both this month.
- 5-11-07 Reaching Out called they got my packet and I'm to wait for call from a social worker.
- 5-8-07 Mailed in homestudy packet with all compiled items!
- 5-4-07 Test results in, picked up copies
- 5-3-07 Got physical exam and went for blood work.
- 5-1-07 Finished autobiography. Got 3rd and 4th reference letters (Stacy & Carrie). Made copies of passport, license, filled out & signed CARI form with check to Reaching Out, signed philosophy policy on discipline form. Scheduled Dr. apt for physical.
- 4-25-07 Got FBI fingerprinting done. May have jumped the gun. Was told not to mail it in yet.
- 4-23-07 Began autobiography. Got 2nd reference letter (Trish).
- 4-20-07 Got fingerprinted at Sagem Morpho. Received 1st personal reference letter (John).
- 4-18-07 Received Welcome paket in mail. Made appointment for Sagem Morpho fingerprinting.
- 4-13-07 Got call from Carol Eifferman, Social work dept.
- 4-12-07 Mailed in application

I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. I hope she is everything you thought she would be. I just want you to know I am really proud of you and that I think your one special lady.
